Air China

Air China is the flag carrier of the People's Republic of China, ranking fourth among global airlines and third among Chinese airlines. Despite its importance in the world stage, Air China’s website is outdated and difficult to use.

I assumed the following roles designing this app:

  • User Experience (UX) Designer

  • Interaction (IxD) Designer

  • User Interface (UI) Designer

  • Visual Designer

How can we create a better responsive website that will work in mobile devices?
How can we create a smoother booking process for users?
How can we revamp the visual design of Air China’s digital platforms?

Interaction Design:
High-fidelity interactive prototypes for key tasks on iOS

UX/UI Design:

  • Competitive analysis

  • User surveys and one-on-one interviews

  • Low-fidelity wireframes

  • High-fidelity mockups and prototypes

  • Design system and UI kit

  • Usability tests and findings

Competitive Review.

A UX Competitive analysis of four large airline companies was carried to define features, functions, flows, and feelings evoked by the design solutions of these airlines.

During the review, we defined strong and weak points of each design, trends, patterns, and differences. These finding allowed us to create a stronger product for Air China.

Air China Website Audit

An audit of their existing website was done to find weaknesses and to identify improvements that can be made to increase traffic, improve engagement.

High Fidelity Wireframes

Following the website audit High fidelity screens were created to create the structure and visual design of the new website.

Prototype & Screens

High Fidelity Mock-ups were then created of the new re-designed website.

Air China Sample UI Kit

Lastly, a User Interface Kit was created  with the new components, styles and cards of the new Air China site.
